Common CD and
DVD Logos:
The
compact disc logo is owned outright by Philips Electronics N.V.
The DVD logo is controlled by the DVD Format/Logo Licensing
Corporation of Japan.
You
do not have to include disc logos on your artwork if you do not
want to. If you *do* want to include the logos, then you must
respect the rules regarding size, shape and color.
-
Logos
must remain Black and White - do not color the logo
-
Download
the EPS image (or True Type font) files by clicking the images
below. EPS images can be placed into your page layout program.
-
If
you wish a black background and white letters, open the EPS in
Illustrator, invert the colors and save as EPS file for
importing into your layout.
-
The
shape must remain unaltered -only scale the logo with
constrained proportions (width and height scales + / -
equally)
-
EPS files are
designed for Illustrator or page layout programs like Quark or InDesign.
If you open in Photoshop you will have to rasterize the image (make into a
bitmap) so be sure to choose a minimum 300 dpi while rasterizing.
-
DO NOT shrink the
logo too small! Fine lines smaller than .5 points will disappear on the CD
label face. Avoid letters smaller than 6 points.
